Research Lecture Series Dr. Pauline Kang presents, “Myopia Control with Orthokeratology”

Please join Robert B. DiMartino, OD, MS, FAAO, Vice President/Dean of Academic Affairs and New England College of Optometry’s Myopia Control Committee at a Myopia Control Symposium on November 15 and 16, 2016.

New England College will be opening a Myopia Control Clinic in 2017 and this symposium will highlight both the research and clinical experience of two experts in slowing the progression of myopia in children. Speakers include Pauline Kang, PhD, BOptom (hons), GradeCertOcTher Lecturer, School of Optometry and Vision Science University of New South Wales, Australia and Yue (Maria) Liu, OD, PhD, MPH, MBA, FAAO, Assistant Professor of Clinical Optometry, Head of Myopia Control Clinic, University of California, Berkeley. Both speakers will be part of the Research Lecture Series.

Dr. Kang will speak about the management of myopia with orthokeratology on November 15, 2016. Her presentation aims to inform clinicians on current research in orthokeratology for the management of progressive myopia, and methods of applying appropriate myopia management in clinical practice. Her abstract explains, " Orthokeratology is currently the most effective optical strategy for myopia control. This presentation will discuss current research in orthokeratology for myopia control, and discuss methods of implementing evidence-based management of progressive myopia into clinical practice."

Dr. Liu will discuss the use of specialty lenses and eye drops for myopia control on November 16, 2016. She will present on, “Evidence-based management of progressive myopia: A 3-year perspective from Berkeley Myopia Control Clinic."

All are welcome to attend. A reception will follow each presentation. One hour of COPE credit will be available pending approval.
